Emergency Light includes Self Contained type and Side Powered type.

For Self Contained type, the battery are contained inside the lamp body and the lamp is normally in "on" condition, it will continue to be "on" when the main AC power is cut off.

For such type, the lamp body is normally very hot - about 70 degree C. Normal batteries cannot be charged properly. You need High Temperature rechargeable battery to help you.

Your lamp watts, local engineering regulation, lamp body spec and emergency lamp running hours will decide what battery packs suit for you.
